Style (Breaking Bad)

Looking into styles I think I have picked out one which would tie in well with my narrative at the moment. This is the style of ‘Breaking Bad’ (director Vince Gilligan). His style involves using the colour of clothing and background to reflect to the audience the mood and feelings of the person on the scene.  For example, when main character in Breaking Bad is teaching, the colours are dull and dark but when he cooking crystal meth the colours brighten up with yellows, greens and reds. Not just the clothing the whole shot seems to become brighter. I would us he same style, when the boy is living in a stale environment and has little to do, this is the point where I would use  the dull colours. But, once he has mixed with the wrong crowed and enjoys it, the colours change and we use bright colours (yellows, reds and greens). I believe his would work well with the storyline, I’m not sure how to do this at the moment but I would look into editing and clothing.
